The right footwear can help keep your feet healthy, make physical activity easier and help keep your safe from injury.
The right shoe should:
- Cushion your foot – The midsole is the main part of the shoe that provides cushioning
- Support your foot – Aid the alignment of your foot when it touches the ground
- Feel comfortable – Immediate comfortable from the first wear
- Fit well – Wide enough and long enough to fit your feet. The shoe should feel snug but not tight
Tips when buying new shoes:

- Make sure that you can wriggle all your toes when you wear them
- Walk/ run to make sure they feel comfortable
- Ensure that the shoe grips your heel
- Examine the soles, they need to be strong
